EHCP Annual Review Support

An annual review is an opportunity to look at whether an EHCP continues to reflect a child or young person’s needs and provision. Preparing in advance can help you share relevant updates and leave with a clear record of what happens next.

Practical help, clearly scoped

Support with organising information, preparing documents and planning questions. We are not a regulated law firm and do not provide reserved legal services, regulated legal advice or legal representation.

Before the meeting

Gather the current EHCP, recent reports, school updates and examples of changes since the last review. Note what is working, what is not working and what you would like the plan or support to address. Our draft EHCP review and Section F support pages explain ways to organise questions about plan wording and provision.

During and after the review

Prepare questions in priority order and take notes of the discussion, decisions and any actions agreed. After the meeting, check the written record and note any points you want to query or clarify. Keep copies of correspondence and record dates when you receive documents.

When changes are proposed

If you receive proposed amendments or a decision following review, we can help you organise the papers and prepare questions about the next steps. For wider process support, see EHCP support or local authority disputes.
